Minimalistic Tropical Vibes
This was one of our all time favorite weddings at Clay Theatre! Matt and Kelly were one of the first couples to book their wedding when our venue was in the "under construction" phase. We loved that this couple took a chance on us and trusted us with their big day! Kelly's vision for the day was a minimalistic tropical theme and it turned out beautifully with the help of their amazing vendor team!

The couple added a DIY wooden diamond backdrop to their sweetheart table. It was originally planned as their ceremony backdrop but Florida's unpredictable weather had other plans for us that day! The couple opted to rent a tent for their ceremony and the planned backdrop wouldn't fit! This plan B turned out even prettier than expected! Josie with AWP Events worked her magic and attached monstera leaves onto the structure

How about this wedding cake? It was created by Heavenly Chocolate Creations out of Jacksonville, Florida. This simple white buttercream 4-tiered cake with 14k gold flakes was to die for! AWP Events put her special touch on it by adding some orchids and greenery to match the theme.
We loved the acrylic cake topper that said "Villanueva" (Matt's last name). The bride purchased the topper from Etsy! Similar link found* here.

Our bride to be in her custom "Mrs. Villanueva" robe!
Shelley and Portugal captured all the little details. We loved this green hand painted Unplugged Ceremony sign by Calligraphy by Cami! Cami is our go-to calligrapher in Jacksonville for addressing invitations and hand lettered signs! Also the blue glass beverage dispensers, provided by the bride, added a nice pop of color!
Another shot of the simple greenery arrangements by AWP Events. We also love Kelly's tan polyester linen choice! Linens provided by Clay Theatre.
The couple opted for a tented ceremony in our courtyard due to inclement weather. Josie with AWP Events created this monstera leaf installation for the couple's ceremony backdrop. We love how it turned out!
How cute did these custom movie posters turn out? You can get these 24 x 36 photo prints at any Walgreens, Staples, Wal-Mart or any photo printing company!

Kelly's dad escorting her down the aisle. And how gorgeous is the bridal bouquet created by AWP Events?!
This was the sweetest moment of the whole day. Seeing Matt's reaction as Kelly walks down the aisle! Pass the tissues!
The couples personalized vows were so sweet and heartfelt.
And they are officially husband and wife!

The most gorgeous bridesmaids!
Love this bridal party shot captured by Shelley and Portugal. Their non-traditional style of shooting was amazing!
The couple definitely turned some heads as they crossed the busy highway to get some portraits around historic Green Cove Springs.
They posed for a portrait in front of an abandoned flower shop. It has become a favorite photo op among our couples!
Generation Y Entertainment had everyone on the dance floor all night long
It was super important to Kelly to include her brother's band into the wedding day. Her planner, Lauren, had them set up in the courtyard and brought everyone outside at the end of the night and the bland played a few songs along with their punk band. It was an unexpected surprise for everyone!
The couple's private last dance. We cannot stress enough how important it is to have a private last dance! It's such a sweet moment to share at the end of the night. It also gives guests a chance to line up for a sparkler exit. It's a win-win!
And that's a wrap! Thanks for checking out the gallery by Shelley and Portugal of Kelly and Matt's Clay Theatre wedding! Stay tuned for more real wedding posts. This was our first ever blog post!
