Clay County's new premier event space Creating memorable events since 1937.

The Clay Theatre has taken many forms and hosted nights of delight for thousands of visitors. Situated along the St. Johns river and across from the newly renovated Spring Park in Green Cove Springs, Florida, this iconic historic landmark is being renovated and rejuvenated to honor its history while embracing an exciting new purpose.

Green Cove Springs was once a popular tourist destination, known as the “Watering Hole for the Rich”. People from New York and Chicago vacationed in the town known as the “Original Fountain of Youth”.

The Clay Theatre has been a staple of the community and many locals have fond memories of going to the movies back in the day. While the theatre has been vacant for the majority of this decade, the next chapter of the theatre looks better than ever. This renovation is breathing new life into a historic landmark, and the Clay Theatre will once again be a premier destination in Northeast Florida!

The building contains over 5,000 square feet of customizable space for any event.

About the current building owners

Andrea & Daniel Vallencourt

In 2017 the historic landmark was purchased by the Clay Theatre Events group, a husband and wife team, who are using their extensive contracting expertise to revitalize the building. It is scheduled to open in 2019 as Florida’s premiere new wedding and event venue.

Newlyweds Andrea and Daniel Vallencourt moved to Green Cove Springs and were immediately inspired by the charm of the quaint riverfront town with all of its rich history.  Looking to start a new adventure together, the two noticed the little pink theatre in the middle of town was for sale. They were still in wedding planning mode after just tying the knot a few months prior and thought this would make for a very unique venue. After months of planning, the idea evolved to what it is today. Their dream became a reality thanks to the support and encouragement from their families, and their talented team of people at Carlton Construction Co, Basham & Lucas Design Group, and Micamy Design Studio. The Vallencourts look forward to being part of all the special milestones that will be celebrated at the newly renovated Clay Theatre event venue!
